USD 444 Parents, Please carefully read ALL of the following bussing information.
Reminder: Federal mandate states that all riders wear masks on the bus.
The procedures for dropping students off in the morning at LRHS to ride a shuttle bus to Windom School will be as follows:
1. Students should not arrive before 7:30 a.m. to the north entrance of the new addition of the high school (NE corner of the block).
2. Busses will leave promptly at 7:40 a.m.
3. Busses will line up in the drive that passes in front of the new north entry.
4. Vehicles heading East on Prairie Street should turn South on Waverly St. and students will exit to the school side near the curb for safety. Students should utilize the sidewalk to where the supervisor will be or immediately load their bus.
5. Students should never pass between busses and should always cross at least 10 ft. in front of a bus within the driver’s sight.
6. Vehicles heading west on Prairie Street should turn South on Waverly St. and follow the same procedures.
7. Busses will exit heading south on Waverly St. on the East side of LRHS.
8. We ask that parents DO NOT come from the South on Waverly St. so that all traffic is flowing South and to prevent students from crossing traffic.
9. Students walking from any direction should utilize crosswalks at corners. 10. Each morning and afternoon for the first few weeks, and often other times, our School Resource Officer, Officer Frick, will be present at the corner.
10. Parents, PLEASE drive carefully and slowly. Watch for students!
The procedures for picking up WES students in the afternoon at LRHS will be as follows:
1. The busses will arrive between 3:45-3:55 p.m. Please be on time to pick up your child(ren).
2. We ask that parents DO NOT come from the South on Waverly St. so that all traffic is flowing South and to prevent students from crossing traffic.
3. Busses will unload in the drive that passes in front of the new north entry.
4. Students will utilize the sidewalk to walk to the east side of LRHS where parents are asked to pull into visitor parking. Students should not cross the middle of the road for pick-up.
5. Students walking from any direction should utilize crosswalks at corners. 5. Parents, PLEASE drive carefully and slowly. Watch for students!
