The high school basketball games scheduled for Canton-Galva tonight have been postponed. We will provide an update when we confirm the rescheduled date/times.
Little River/Windom schools will run a 2 hour late start this morning Tuesday, February 20, 2018 due to slick road conditions. No AM Preschool and No Breakfast will be served. All bus routes will run 2 hours late.
2018 Winter Homecoming! The Little River teams played tough, but fell to Inman. We are proud of all of you! Loyal and True! Congratulations to Melanie Renken who was crowned Homecoming Queen and Levi Swenson who was crowned Homecoming King! Thank you to all parents and community members for your support! Today is “FFA Drive Your Tractor to School Day, 2018!”
8th grade students in Mrs. Bookless’s class are preparing for a presentation on the president of their choice. Presentations must include a bibliography, a call to action, and a slogan. They will then record a 60 second radio ad promoting their president.
Students in Mrs. Gunther’s Physical Science class are designing Rube Goldbergs. These are structures using simple machines to perform a task. We have creativity!!
On Wednesday January 31st it was the 100th day of school for Windom Elementary. Students who are enrolled in the Teaching Pathway Class developed lesson plans and activities to help Prek-2nd grade classes to celebrate. Kylie Eller and Baylee Holloway were in charge of designing activities for the 1st grade and 2nd grade. The activities included, popping 100 balloons with each class (they had a blast even though it was very noisy) and a scavenger hunt after lunch. For the scavenger hunt Baylee and Kylie hid 100 kisses that were numbered and the classes had to find them together. To prepare for the day, we sent home little baggies with student names on it and they had to fill it with 100 things and bring back the filled bags to share with classmates. Soccer sign up forms for the Recreation Commission for K-8th grade were sent home last week with students. Due to all the sickness and absenteeism please make sure your child got home with a form. If not have your child get a form at the Windom Elementary Office. Deadline for the sign up is February 19th.
