We have started a new class here at Little River High School, called 21st Century Journalism. This class will cover an overview of the field of journalism and mass communication. Students will learn to be consumers of media, to understand newsgathering and production, as well as explore the role of media in the communications industry. We will practice basic news writing, reporting, editing, and discussion of legal and ethical issues. Throughout the semester students will be creating posts regarding activities here at LRHS as well as covering topics they are passionate about. Here are our students writers: Jennifer Crotinger (12th Grade), Baylee Holloway (12th Grade), Ezekiel Zeller (11th Grade), Sammii Weaver (11th Grade), and Gunner Bower (10th Grade).

On Wednesday January 31st it was the 100th day of school for Windom Elementary. Students who are enrolled in the Teaching Pathway Class developed lesson plans and activities to help Prek-2nd grade classes to celebrate. Kylie Eller and Baylee Holloway were in charge of designing activities for the 1st grade and 2nd grade. The activities included, popping 100 balloons with each class (they had a blast even though it was very noisy) and a scavenger hunt after lunch. For the scavenger hunt Baylee and Kylie hid 100 kisses that were numbered and the classes had to find them together. To prepare for the day, we sent home little baggies with student names on it and they had to fill it with 100 things and bring back the filled bags to share with classmates. Overall the day was very successful and it was fun to get to lead the class for the day. Baylee Holloway, Senior Little River High School
