This is an important reminder that there will be NO SCHOOL for students and staff tomorrow, September 10, 2025, due to the Little River Jr./Sr. High School Band participating in the Kansas State Fair Marching Band Competition. The band is scheduled to line up between 10:30 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. to march on the fairgrounds beginning near the 4-H animal exhibits. Hope to see you at the fairgrounds cheering on our marching band during this time!
Due to the excessive rainfall, many roads are or may become flooded. If you are aware of any roads that are flooded, please contact the offices so we can plan accordingly for bus routes. If you want to pick your child up from school, please feel free to let the office know and pick them up at any time. At this time, we are planning to run all bus routes. If roads are impassable, you will be notified to pick up your child at the school. Thanks for your understanding, as student safety is our number one priority.
The High School JV Football game at Chase County, scheduled for Monday, September 8th, will now start at 5:00 PM.
USD 444 Little River is accepting applications for bus drivers and an assistant cook at the Little River Jr./Sr. High School. Applications can be located online at https://www.usd444.com/documents/online-applications/48707 or by calling the District Office at 620-897-6325.
Wednesday One-Hour Late Start begins tomorrow, August 20th, at 9:10 a.m. Bus routes will be running one hour late. Shuttle routes will leave each building promptly at 8:40 a.m. Teachers will report at their normal time for in-service and collaboration.

Due to a shortage of bus drivers, after-school routes may take longer than in past years. Please have some patience as we try to navigate after-school routes. If you know of anyone interested in driving a bus, please notify the district office. We currently have only two full-time afternoon drivers and a sub driver. We will do our best to accommodate your transportation needs; however, we will need your help throughout the year.
A meeting for the Redskin Backerz Jr./Sr. High School Parent Group will be held on Thursday, August 14, 2025, following the fall sports meeting at 7 p.m. in the Jr./Sr. School Commons Area. Please plan to come and see what we have planned for the 2025-2026 school year!

REMINDER!!! In-person enrollment is tomorrow, August 6th, from 3-6 PM. If you come in tomorrow to enroll, we will have laptops available in the meeting room for you to complete online enrollment. If you have not enrolled, please do so by the end of the day on Wednesday, August 6. Thanks.
Reminder: All 7th-12th graders planning to participate in athletics must have a physical and concussion form on file. They must submit both forms before they are allowed to practice. Fall practice starts Monday, August 18th. Forms can be picked up and turned into the district or HS office. Thank you
2025-2026 Enrollment Information
Due to severe weather and potential flooding, Wednesday's HS and JH weights sessions and JH Volleyball Skill are cancelled. Weights will resume on Thursday.
Only NEW Non-Resident Students need to complete the Non-Resident Student Application for the upcoming 2025-2026 school year. If you attended school in the USD 444 Little River School District during the 2024-2025 school year as an Out-of-District Student or Non-Resident Student, you are grandfathered in and do not need to complete the application for the 2025-2026 school year. Due to field conditions, Regional Baseball scheduled for today will be moved to Wednesday, May 21st. Times will remain the same.
Today's HS Regional BSB games scheduled at Marion have been post-poned to tomorrow (Tuesday, May 20th). Times will remain the same. Softball is scheduled to go on as planned.
Pre-K bus will be running late today. The students who ride the bus to Little River should arrive to the Little River stop around noon.
